From Sisteron we headed down the Route Napoleon to our overnight stop in the south of France, our hotel directly overlooking the beach. It seemed a world away from Kent which we’d left only 2 days ago.
Day three saw the cars burst into life early, battle the traffic of the French Riviera, heading to the famous Col de Turini. A manic few hours of twists, turns and switchbacks only broken by a short coffee break at the top. Then it was across the coast on the Autostrada before heading for more twisty stuff in the Italian hills. That evening it was pizzas and pasta all round as we stayed in Italy (cheesy, but true).
Day four, and again the sun was shining, ready to bathe the Swiss Alps for us as we headed to the Furka, Grimsel and Susten Passes. Truly amazing roads and scenery, we never fail to be blown away each time we visit this region.
